How To Downgrade iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.2 – iPhone 4 – 3GS – iPod Touch 4G

This guide will show you how to downgrade iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.2 with an iPhone 4, 3GS or iPod Touch 4G.

Unfortunately, this process may not work on A5 devices.

Supported devices are: iPhone 4 CDMA, iPhone 4 GSM, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G.

Step By Step Procedure To Downgrade From iOS 6.1.3 To 6.1.2

Step 1: Double check you have the SHSH blobs for your iPhone or iPod Touch device, you will need them to downgrade. Also check that you have an iOS 6.1.2 IPSW file, you will need that also.

Step 2: Download the Snowbreeze software. You can find the latest version here:
Download SnowBreeze Latest Version
Extract the contents of the .zip file and open the executable program.
Note: The Snowbreeze software is only available for the Windows operating system. Mac OS users may have to find a Windows based system to downgrade with.

Step 3: Click on the arrow at the bottom-right of the Snowbreeze window, choose Browse for an IPSW, then browse to the iOS 6.1.2 IPSW file you have.

Step 4: Choose iFaith mode, then browse to the SHSH blobs you have saved for your device.

Step 5: Choose Build IPSW, then allow Snowbreeze to create the custom iOS 6.1.2 IPSW firmware file you would then use for the downgrade.

Step 6: The next thing to do is to put your iPhone or iPod Touch in Pwned DFU mode. If you do not know how to do this, please see this article: How to put an iPhone into Pwned DFU mode

Step 7: When Snowbreeze detects your device is in Pwned DFU mode, it would then use the iREB utility to patch the file.
Note that if a restore logo displays on your screen, this signifies that you are not in Pwned DFU mode yet, please follow the link above to see the correct procedure.

To exit the Pwned DFU mode, press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button untill you see the Apple logo.

Step 8: Open iTunes while your iPhone or iPod Touch is connected to the Computer via USB cable. Hold the SHIFT key then click on Restore.
Select the custom iOS 6.1.2 IPSW file that Snowbreeze created for you (NOT the one you downloaded!). Snowbreeze probably saved the file on your desktop. The custom IPSW would have a bunch of numbers in front of its name.

iTunes will then downgrade your iPhone device from iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.2 using the custom IPSW. Now if you downgraded successfully without any errors, move to the next section of the guide: “What To Do After Downgrading”

If iTunes gives you any errors, see the Fix iTunes Errors section below after “What to do after downgrading”

What To Do After Downgrading To 6.1.2

Ok now you have a jailbroken device thanks to Snowbreeze. You also have access to Cydia and all the other jailbreak apps and functions, but the problem is that this jailbreak is tethered and you would have to untether it using a tool from Cydia known as the Evasion Untether

Step 1: Open Cydia, then click on the Changes button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Check the box that says Evasion Untether, then click on Upgrade, then Confirm.

Step 3: Reboot your iPhone or iPod Touch, and your jailbreak would become untethered.

Fix iTunes Errors 3194, 1600, 1604, 1611

For some reason, some downgrade or upgrade process may meet an error, e.g iTunes error 3194, iPhone errors 1600, 1604 and 1611. These error can be fixed by iREB.
Step 1: Download the iREB rc7 tool, there is a mirror Here.

Step 2: Connect your iPhone device to your PC using a USB cable. Launch iREB, then choose your device from the devices listed.

Step 3: Now put your iPhone or iPod Touch into Pwned DFU mode as can be found here: Pwned DFU. After successfully entering pwned dfu, continue with Step 7 of the first section of this guide.

iPhone Stuck On Black Screen?

If your iPhone or iPod Touch gets stuck on a black screen, this means that the SHSH blobs for your device are either incomplete or are corrupt (not saved properly), these are termed corrupt aptickets. Try saving them again if you can.
